A new blog post has offered information on Shroud of the Avatar Release 33, which adds several new gameplay elements and makes a few changes to PvP.
Fresh off of the second backer telethon which saw the crowdfunded title earn $10M in total funding, Release 33 looks to begin the Lot Deed Raffle for Taxable Lot Deeds in the game to distribute the remaining housing plots. There is also a major change to PvP as players in certain zones will see other players flagged for PvP despite their own status in an attempt to bring a sense of risk vs. reward. “We have always said that all PVP in Shroud of the Avatar will be consensual and players will choose to engage, or not to engage,” states the post. “With that said, we also want to make sure PVP is an integral part of the experience.”
R33 will also provide several polish passes, new POTs and POT changes and adjustments to crafting. Complete details on everything in Release 33 can be seen on the Shroud of the Avatar website.
After an immense funding campaign, we’re eager to see Shroud of the Avatar continue to grow and develop through its current Persistence build. We’re not sure how people will take to the PvP changes, but we assume that things will continue to be balanced and adjusted as development of this MMO continues on.
